Today I’d like to share one of my last year’s photos. There are no special conditions to it and yet, I like it so much. I mean, the sunrise was nice, but not overwhelming and the photo is good for something else. It’s the mood, the feelings it conveys. Also, it brings a sense of boundless ocean, of the morning quiet with the ocean wash breaking it. And somehow it has a soothing effect.
The Feelings Photo Conveys
This is the slug I have written for the photo some time back “Imagine that the world is truly boundless. And you are in the middle. Whichever way you go, the world is there, eagerly giving you an unlimited number of possibilities and options. Just pick your way and never look back.”
For those wondering it’s a vertical panorama. I have created several horizontal shots positioned one on top of the other and then stitched them in Photoshop, hence the name “vertical pano”.
What’s your perception of the photo?
Location
The location of this photo is the spot over the cliffs in Clovelly, just above the Shark Point. This place is very nice and therefore I have mentioned it before in this Sydney Beaches photography guide. Check it out for my favorite spots in Sydney.
Technical Info
The photo consists of three horizontal photos stitched into a vertical panorama. The Exif details are f/8, 1/50 sec, ISO 200, 15mm. The camera is Nikon D750 with Tamron 15-30 / 2.8 lens. For the foreground shot I have focused on the rocks and for other photos the focus point is infinity. The distortion level produced by the Tamron was acceptable, therefore there were no issues stitching it all together. And finally, I have chosen ISO 200 and f/8 because I wanted the wave to look like a more or less formed wave, not blurred.

Great entry for the photo challenge. I love the sharpness, and the well thought out angles of your photo.

Well balanced and nice triad of color palette of blue-aquamarine-dark reds. It is an image I would purchase!
