Minimalist Photography
The first thought when you see a minimalistic photo is that it is easy to see and create. The reality is far from that. It is quite hard to compose a simple yet expressive minimalistic photo. It requires some serious observation skills and mindset to find that awesome subject for the photo while keeping it a landscape, not a close-up shot. Another difficulty here is getting over the grand landscape and focusing on simple things without getting distracted. This type of photography is also called Reductive, i.e. we remove as many elements as possible from the photo. These photos focus on simplicity, a limited number of colours, and repetitions. The photos often evoke a sense of desolation, silence, and emptiness, and leave the photo open for the viewer’s own interpretation.
Minimalist Landscape
Such minimalistic pictures can exist in every genre of photography. My take is the landscape, of course. And to be more specific, mostly my gallery consists of minimalist seascapes. Sometimes it is hard to distinguish where the minimalistic genre ends and normal seascapes begin but I tried my best. Hope you enjoy the experience too.
