Landscape Photoshop Workshop – Online/Offline

A lot of newbies think they are able to produce great photos straight out of the camera. I thought so too 10 years ago and even had a few arguments on the topic with more senior photographers. The knowledge comes with time (or after the photoshop workshop). We need editing as much as the photography itself. You see, if you set the camera to jpg setting, then it takes a raw file and edits it using some preset values, generic for any picture you take with given settings. The engineers and programmers are great but they cannot predict everything. As an artist, I know better. And you know better. You just need a little help to make a sound start.

I’m a photographer for over eleven years now and it has always been much harder for me to edit photos than to shoot. As a consequence, I’ve invested hours, weeks and months into learning from those who teach. Also, I’ve read numerous articles, watched videos and did a few courses. Without practice, knowledge is worth nothing and so I’ve practised a lot and keep practising to the day. 2018 is a big year for me as I have started online tuition. Two master classes with an overall audience of over 700 students and a number of private lessons went well with a lot of good reviews and zero unhappy participants.

Skill Level Requirements

Suitable for any level from an absolute beginner to intermediate. However, advanced retouchers can also learn a few tricks.

What You’ll Learn

Due to the private nature of the photoshop workshop, we can adjust the material we go through based on your knowledge. The amount of knowledge I’m willing to pass over is greater than a single lesson, so we decide on the topics covered in advance. Some topics to choose from:

1. Raw files processing start to end
2. Blending exposures using Lightroom/ACR
3. Luminosity mask techniques for blending and editing
4. Color and saturation adjustments
5. Panorama stitching
6. Creative effects for added drama (ie. Orton effect, light bleed etc)
7. Sharpening for web
8. Pseudo-long exposure, focal range blend and other techniques.

How It Works

There are three possible scenarios on how to make our Photoshop short course work:

1. Skype (or another app) session.
2. At your place in Gold Coast (may incur a call out fee). – this option is not available at the moment due to the pandemic
3. I provide a fresh downloadable video with the topics we agreed on and then answer all questions either in Skype call or in the email.

What We Edit

Again, there are options here. We can either edit some of my photos (which I prefer, of course) or yours. If you choose to edit your photos, this incurs a +10% to the price and is subject to approval as the photos should be good quality.
